Why We Love It
This brand of sesame oil has been part of my family cabinet since childhood. It’s the OG Sesame Oil many families may be familiar with and used daily growing up!
This is a must have in your pantry if you love to cook Asian food!
We use this sesame oil at home to:
To dress up Silken Tofu with a dash of sesame oil and a few glugs of Momofuku Soy Sauce. A family favorite usually served alongside plain congee or as a side dish at dinner time. It is cold, bursting with unami, refreshing and delightful to eat!
Use it to up your flavor for Mapo Tofu (I use a splash of sesame oil to finish off Mapo Tofu for my kids and use Chili Oil or Momofuku Chili Crisp for my husband and I).
Use it to make Korean Banchan. A dash of sesame oil and salt (or Icelandic salt is excellent) with stir fried or blanched veggies, such as beansprouts, spinach and carrots. I use it when I make Szechuan Cucumber Salad.
Add it to your ramen for a warm, unami and nutty layer of flavor.
Add it to your dumpling sauce (Momofuku soy sauce, a little sugar, the Fly by Jing Aged Black Vinegar; plus a splash of this sesame oil and a small drop of our Kosterina Garlic EVOO (or use fresh garlic if you feel like chopping) and you’ve got yourself an outstanding dumpling dipping sauce!
Rub it over your Hainanese Poached Chicken or Ginger Scallion Chicken to add extra flavor to your “plain” chicken.
