Inspiration
As an active member of her school community, Yvonne has volunteered to host workshops and take part in the many events for those schools and often helping plan and/or volunteering for fundraisers. It was through those experiences that she realized there were a lot of “junk” fundraisers out there. Chances were that many things were cookie cutter and mass produced to sell and filling up the landfill! Do you ever wonder about the ingredients that is in the chocolate bar? How many plastic toys have been sold? Is the quality any good? Where was the item made? How do you feel when you shop at a fundraiser— do you expect things from a fundraiser to last long? How about it's environmental impact?
After years of finding eco friendly alternatives to birthday parties, she found has found it so hard to buy things that are not all plastic --many toys from party bags, gift items are eventually going to end up in the landfill. Though the things she has in her home are not all plastic free, she is always hopeful for little steps to make a difference and she is still in this journey herself. And so, this carefully hand curated Fundraise collection was created after years of research.

Purpose
The purpose of this collection is to connect fundraising with the option for schools and families to make mindful purchases, promote hands on learning and to provide a means for students and families to empower and give back to the world. Each brand in the collectuom has a bigger initiative to just sell "things". By partnering with Mamas Got Heart for your School Fundraisers, schools will learn about different companies, their mission and the people who found them. Many of the companies either support Fair Trade, Hire People with Disabilities, Support Education in another Country, are Eco-friendly/Plant a Tree, are Allergy Friendly (or made from natural or organic ingredients) and more. Students, families and their school can read and learn together, while at the same time make a purchase, knowing that their dollar goes more than to just help raise funds for their school.

Schools will get 15% of all orders from the start to end of the fundraiser period all year round; this means your school can earn money back even during breaks. All orders will ship in the order it was received (typically between 1-3 business days).
Please note that in the rare situation during the pandemic, where delivery services may be delayed unexpectedly due to shipping demand and unforseen circumstances due to weather; and if that happens, we will reach out to give you a heads up.
Why just 15%?
As the Fundraise Collection was in the works, I looked into other fundraising platforms and realized that most (or all in out research) charged a percentage just for the mere fact that we are using their Fundraise Platform. On top of all of that, those same platforms take a percentage of each sale, taking away the amount we can give to schools, and charging the customer for delivery fees too. We are not willing to, not do we think it is fair to even consider jacking up prices just to cover those unnecessary costs.
Yvonne is the biggest advocate if not getting ripped off. She believes families all work hard for their money and prices should be fair. She is doing her Fundraise with schools though her own website to prevent families for paying those ridiculous fees (which she thinks is robbing customers who are shopping at a Fundraiser). She chose to work with schools because schools hold a special case in her heart--did you know she was a teacher before she launched Mamas Got Heart? She even holds a MA in Early Childhood Education and graduated Magna Cum Laude!
She will be donating 15% of the profits of all sales to the school at this time. Also, please keep in mind there are other costs small businesses incur by simply running a website, covering for insurance, extra delivery fees, advertising and etc.

Scholastic -Since the fundraiser is online only for some schools , the school only gets virtual bucks, meaning rather than getting a check or cash back, your school only gets virtual bucks that can only be spent online
Box Tops- Each Box Top is worth 10 cents to a participating Box Tops school
What to Expect
After your school reaches out, Yvonne will add your school to the list for money back from the fundraiser. Once your school reaches at least $50 in reward prize, a check will be sent out to your PTA. No contract or hassle!
