Mamas Got Heart Inspiration
Come along with us, as we venture to make a difference in our world one mindful purchase at a time!
We welcome you and hope you leave the store inspired and empowered.
Mamas Got Heart was inspired by Yvonne’s Hopscotch Mom Blog, where she shares “ Tidbits of All Things Family, Children and Education related.”
After becoming mom and raising her own family, Yvonne was inspired to be more green, more mindful of all the purchases she makes. The birthday parties were always fun to plan, but she realized there were so many disposables from the one time use plastic goody bags to the often one time use decorations and toys.
She strived to make better choices as she picked out toys and goody bags that she thinks would be purposeful, educational and hopefully stick around for more than a few weeks. It was difficult to find non-plastic toys that were affordable.
With all that said, Yvonne created this store to fill with eco- friendlier choices that will hopefully last forever.
This store will be a journey for her as well, as she continues to research and find gifts and favors that are excellent quality and as eco-friendly as possible! If you would like to share an eco-friendly party favor idea for me to stock here, please feel free to reach out and I will try my best to stock it. Eco-friendlier party favors have been challenging and she is still working hard to add them through time and research.
If the items here do not seem as eco-friendly, please know that she also picked each of these items one by one. She chose them being mindful of the materials they are made of; if there are plastic components, she tried her best to weight the pros and cons of the item, before stocking it. She aims to choose high quality items that are substantial enough to last for years to come; that can either be donated or pass on to another family member or friend for years to come.
If you are familiar with her blog Hopscotch Mom, you will know that she loves food and she loves to cook! Several of her recipes are inspired by her daughters, who have a dairy, egg and nut allergy. She found it frustrating that there really wasn’t just one place she could look to find snacks her kids could eat without having their eczema flare up. She has since found herself recommending snacks and food items that are dairy-free with many parents and families and found many families that were also frustrated to not have one place they could go to that was dedicated to just dairy free snacks.
Hence, she made the mindful decision to dedicate a collection here that is Dairy-free. With the many years of doing her own research on what snacks she could feed her or send to school, as treats for their class parties, she compiled a decent group of alternatives of dairy-free treats. She will be slowly stocking up on dairy free, egg free and nut items in this shop as well! She often tests out different brands and flavors to always try to find better tasting, so if you find a brand here, it is the best she has found so far that is dairy free. You can bet when she finds an option that is even better tasting and better priced than she already has on here, she will update it to the new best finds.
So come along and shop happily and reassuringly without stressing about the goodies purchased here. I’ve already gone ahead and did some of that research for us!
